Rotary Plaza
2016/2017
As a member of the Rotary Club of Windsor 1918 and a member of the Centennial Projects Committee, Joseph Passa and Passa Architects designed the Rotary Centennial Plaza for the Riverfront Park in Windsor. The design incorporated trails providing natural corridors of plants along the riverfront cumulating at an overlapping patio plan with various focal points of interest. The curvilinear trails provided intimate areas for contemplation with benches and seating. Colourful shading devices were devised to highlight the trails in both daylight and nighttime with LED lighting. The Patios had a multitude of interesting spaces shaded and lit differently with the Rotary colours of blue and gold in the paving stones radiating outwards imitating droplets of water and waves reaching out to assist the world as Rotary strives so well to accomplish. Kinetic moving sculptures, history displays, picture frames, seating, shading canopies and intertwined spaces all come together to explain the values of Rotary.
