Windsor Tunnel Duty Free Shop
2003
This addition and renovation project for the operators of the Windsor Tunnel Duty-Free Shop was to design a new 2,700 sq. ft. Second-floor addition overlooking a redesigned existing 10,000 sf interior adding a double height retail space to the area with new administration areas and a new front facade. Previously in 1995, the firm doubled the size of the now 20,000 sf building where this newer work is now located. Completing the revised exterior image from the tunnel plaza blue neon lights are recessed in stepped vertical elements emphasizing the main entry while associating the adjacent city buildings. The evolved street scaping at ground level has a continuous curvilinear canopy with backlit signage flowing along its face. The commercial allure of the building is further accentuated with the product advertisement boxes situated sporadically along the embracing building form.
