Greenwood Centre
1991-2005
Joseph Passa while a previous partner with R. Meo Associates and on-going with Passa Architects afterward was commissioned at various stages to design this multi-phased professional business park comprising eventually ten buildings with a total area of approximately 300,000 sq. ft. The versatile and fully accessible design was intended to be flexible enough to meet the diverse requirements and expectations of both current and future tenants based on a 30-foot grid allowing entrances in open glazed areas. This aspect contributes to a street sensation of solid and void repetitious elements providing perspective.
Some of the unique features of this design are the park like setting that the site provides, the use of skylights, glazed canopies, and ample amounts of wall glazing that allow an abundance of daylight to penetrate the suites as well as the well-designed parking areas which are considered immensely important to the tenants for good access. A 60 ft. tower defines the main planning square and seen from great distances identifies the development as the symbol for the complex.
Locating the project adjacent an existing expressway exit ramp allowed the design to provide excellent site access and high visibility and advertising opportunities for the occupants. It is due to its design that the Greenwood Centre is considered one of Windsor’s most desired business locations.
